Happy 4th of July! I am busy tring to finish my "to do list" and get all of things taken care of before my 2 weeks out of the country. That is so weird, out of the country. I hope I don't forget anything! If I do, it will have to wait. I think all the bills that come due while I am gone are taken care of, now it's just the few that are due before I leave. Most of what is left can't be done until a couple of days before. I am looking forward to the massage on the 11th!
It's hard for me to believe that it has been over a year (420 days, not that I am counting) since we dumped, (yes with the way that airport security is I feel like we dumped) Megan off at the airport to begin her new journey in life with the Peace Corps in Bulgaria. I have been so grateful for Skype, being able to see her has helped immensely! I can't wait to put my arms around her and give her a big hug!
You all know I have been planning to go and see her since before she even left. You have listened to my countdown of days. (There will be another countdown when I return.) Well the suitcase is full! I somehow need to fit a few clothes in there! Why waste valuable space on things that I can buy there? It is filled with Cayola markers, maple syrup, American candy, chocolate chips, whiteboard markers, erasable pens, and I'm not even sure what else. I started filling it so long ago with things for the kids it will be like Christmas when I get there and it gets opened!
I get on the airplane in 8 days. I get that big hug in 9! I can't even imagine what my poor body will feel like by then. 18 hours of travel time, 8 hour time difference, and then a 2 hour train ride to Megan's house. She has our time planned out, as she has to take vacation time for any traveling outside of her city. I am so excited to see the cities and villages I have heard so much about, to meet the family that she lived with for the first 3 months she was there and the new friends she has made.
I could tell you what we have planned to do and see but that would take all the fun out of this. I think I'll let it be a surprise. Off to cross a couple more things off of my list!
